SIR Mr E Dunn (T&A Letters, May 15) enquired whether modern trolleybuses would be capable of causing electronic interference to phones, laptops and radios.
While I certainly remember that Bradford's pre-1972 trolleybuses sometimes (but not invariably) interfered with radio and television transmissions, I know of no similar complaints regarding the new generation of trolleybuses in use on the continent and in America and Canada.
However, if trolleybuses were to be reintroduced to West Yorkshire, we would certainly ensure that any possible electronic problems were fully resolved, as we have no intention of blacking out our towns and cities!
