SIR With reference to the article (T&A, May 15) which said Bradford Council was not going to meet its recycling target and as such would be fined by the Government, I can understand the logic of this.
However, if and when this fine is applied to Bradford Council they in turn have stated that they will pass this on in the form of increased council tax.
So in other words the Council will not be fined at all but each and every one of us who pays council tax will bear the brunt of the Government's fervour to get councils to recycle more.
In principle the idea is right, but as individuals we cannot control the Council's efforts to meet the targets yet we are going to be penalised financially.
