SIR - I have received from Bradford Centre Regeneration a questionnaire asking me whether I like the proposed designs for the Odeon site. I am told that this allows me to have my say in the future of this prominent site subsequent to the Odeon being demolished.

The slant of the questions denies me such a say, for, in common with many other Bradfordians, I am not convinced that demolition rather than refurbishment would be in Bradford's best interest.

If and when a planning application is received for one of the proposals and the Council's Recreation and Amenities Committee is then able to demand an independent survey of the existing building (see Councillor King's letter of May 9)which indicates that refurbishment is a viable option, then the 20,000 questionnaires printed and the 3,500 posted to selected citizens will have been a waste of money.

However, if recipients of the questionnaire merely write "None of these" then perhaps BCR will get the message. But, as only 225 people attended the exhibition on the Markets and a paltry 39 over three days on the Channel, perhaps they should have already got the message that Bradfordians do not have any confidence in them?
