SIR - Who had the bright idea to put traffic lights on the junction of Great Horton Road and Moore Avenue?
It doesn't seem long since the double mini-roundabouts were installed, but at least they improved the junction.
I am assuming the traffic lights were installed to help ease traffic along the road from the newly opened Tesco, but all they have done is create queues.
Every day this week my bus has queued back to Bartle Lane. The traffic only eases here because cars are using Bartle Lane and Hollingwood Lane as a rat-run bypassing the traffic lights.
The powers-that-be must have realised that problems would occur, they only had to look at the traffic caused by the temporary lights when the road works were being done on the junction.
Are these traffic lights on sensors or are they set on a fixed time? Whichever way they're set up, something needs to be done to improve the traffic flow.
I know the officials will say that people need time to get used to the traffic lights, but I seriously doubt the queues will diminish.
