SIR After reading your front page showing a distraught picture of Olive Joy, whose daughter, Frances, is detained in Lynfield Mount Mental Hospital (T&A, May 9) I cannot comprehend that Bradford Care Trust have locked this autistic lady up for six months when she is not mentally ill.
I can only imagine the suffering she must be going through, as is her mother.
How will they cope when she is finally allowed home they will be like strangers to each other?
I dread to think what will happen when this frail, elderly mother is unable to look after her daughter, or when her mother is no longer here.
What will become of Frances as there are no facilities for people like her in Bradford?
A life sentence in Lynfield Mount God forbid!
