SIR It is all very well David Cameron praising local newspapers (T&A, May 8) and listening to the concerns of local people but why doesn't he practise what he preaches? He doesn't listen and stifles his MPs who do.
Shipley has an excellent MP in Philip Davies, who assured me he would not simply be a "yes" man but would fight for what he thought was right for Shipley and the country as a whole.
We see eye to eye on our continuing expensive membership of the EU and he proposed in parliament that we withdraw, currently being supported, openly, by 50 or so other MPs.
Cameron has said there will be no promotion for anyone espousing such measures, thus opposing, if polls are correct, the wishes of more than half the population.
The Conservative leader will be pushing more and more people to vote for other parties.
