SIR - Can I say David Barnett's column (T&A, May 3) was not only offensive but incorrect.
I have been a member of the British National Party a number of years. I along with all the members I know are fully aware the Holocaust did happen and though thoroughly disgusting it doesn't brand every German a nasty Nazi.
Neither is every member of the BNP a racist, thug, fascist, etc, etc.
As for corporal and capital punishment we, along with a lot of the population, would welcome it. Too many innocent people are dying today thanks to the softly, softly approach of past governments. A swift caning from a teacher not, as Mr Barnett states, a "physical beating" would I'm sure restore discipline in children which seems to have disappeared.
So come on, Mr Barnett, lay off until you know more about the people of the BNP and keep your thoughts to yourself.
