SIR Dr Ali's letter (T&A, May 8) about the Bradford Riots TV programme must be challenged.
The sentences given to those convicted were not disproportionate - check the statute books for guidance.
Dr Ali implies it is always the fault of others - the easy answer. To accuse the Council and local employers of systematic exclusion is untrue.
Of course better community relations are required if we are not to have another riot and a better future. But this is a two-way process.
Bradford is bursting at the seams with well-meaning initiatives, programmes and positive discrimination. Just look at the success and achievements of Bradford Vision.
Owning up to your own problems is the first step to recovery.
