SIR As I read the letters in the T&A every night I feel I must voice my view on care assistants working in care homes.
While I agree all people working in the health care profession do a marvellous job, very little is said about these care assistants, whether it be private or the NHS.
We also work long hours, at times under a lot of stress. We can be verbally or physically abused at work.
The pay is very low indeed, so anybody doing this job has got to enjoy doing it, as I do myself.
We don't just care for the elderly, at times we are faced with the very sick or terminally ill, which can be very emotional as you get close to each individual.
The job is rewarding at the end of the day, but a little but more recognition would not go amiss.
