SIR Now the local elections are over I wonder if anyone can explain about the addressed papers from the electoral HQ.
According to the mail received for my wife, son and myself, who all have a postal vote, the address shown on all three was Oakenshaw, not Wyke.
My son and daughter-in-law, and a few of our friends who all live near the Crown Hotel in Wyke, all received mail shown as Low Moor and they had to attend the Harold Club in Low Moor to vote instead of Wyke Methodist Church as in the past, since Wyke Middle School was changed.
Reading the election results (T&A, May 6) I am not really surprised the turnout for Wyke was only 38 per cent. Only my son and wife went to Low Moor to vote that I know about. All my friends told me they did not go due to the distance.
