SIR I would like to reply to two recent readers' letters.

Firstly, a query from Mr John Pashley (T&A, April 25) re the Odeon: why has the independent survey requested by the regulatory and appeals committee not taken place yet, and will I be prepared to ask questions which Bradford folk put to me?

Answer we cannot demand a survey until a planning application is received and, yes, I will ask all questions which are sent to the Council preferably (for wider circulation) to the Director of Planning and Transportation.

Secondly, Mr Paul Stephenson (T&A, May 3) requested modern trolley buses for Bradford on environmental grounds.

Answer at Metro we have inspected the latest trolley buses at Arnhem, Solingen and Nancy, and are now reviewing the range of obstacles which are sure to be placed in our path, as hilly Bradford with its hundreds of former trolley standards still serving as lampposts would be ideal territory.

Government approval and enthusiasm would be needed, of course!
