SIR In view of recent developments regarding foreign criminals and their subsequent release into the community, it becomes clear the deportation process has been unduly complicated in terms of the Human Rights Act, the European Convention and civil rights apologists.
It may now be time to suspend provisions of the above and allow the Home Secretary powers to deport summarily known foreign criminals and agitators without recourse to costly trials and time-consuming appeals. Should the criminals be deported to their country of origin where they may suffer persecution then so be it. Guests' arriving in this country should behave with the proper decorum required otherwise it should be made clear that they will suffer the consequences.
Civil rights apologists can always be deported to intolerant countries in the Middle East where I am sure they could ply their trade with great effect!
