SIR I feel compelled to write and highlight the wonderful work being carried out at the Manorlands Hospice, Oxenhope, and to draw readers' attention to this, especially if in the unenviable position of nursing a loved one through a terminal illness.
My mother recently spent ten days at Manorlands while living through the final stages of cancer.
Having lost my father just ten weeks previously, the whole family was feeling pretty raw and needed looking after as well as mum. The care, professionalism and human kindness we received from all staff was second to none.
Mum was a beautiful, warm, human being who was cruelly savaged by this awful disease and her beauty was recognised by all at Manorlands. Both mum and ourselves were consulted at every stage of her treatment and our wishes were respected.
The staff became our friends and I feel Manorlands was very special and gave us precious quality time with our beloved mum.
If anyone is looking for a worthy cause to champion, I highly recommend they choose Manorlands.
