SIR – I agree with Mr Rhodes (Letters, March 23) about TV programmes – you can’t please everyone.

I personally love Lark Rise To Candleford – it’s like a British version of the Waltons: no bad language, everybody’s worries solved, ideal family life, meals round the table. Oh for those family talks.

I will probably get shot down for saying this, I know they were very poor, but happy.
