SIR – Dennis Delaney disagrees with me profoundly about the quality of Lark Rise To Candleford on BBC (Letters, March 24).
I really do enjoy period dramas, so was looking forward to this programme from a positive position. The costumes and settings are excellent. Where it really fell flat on its face for me was content.
On Sundays I stay up until 10pm to watch the real gem put out by the BBC – The Seven Ages Of Britain.
The other great benefactor of Lark Rise To Candleford is TV Burp, presented by Harry Hill. He could be seriously short of material without it.
I think he views the whimsical nature of this programme in the same light as me – absolutely corny.
Thanks to David Rhodes for telling me that more than 16 million watched EastEnders and the murder of Archie Mitchell.
I don’t believe he is dead, and when I go to Morrisons later this week, there will be plenty others like me. Larry ‘Lazarus’ Lamb will return before Christmas. Gripping stuff!
