SIR – Re “Chewing gum alert” (T&A, March 22). They should either make chewing gum the same colour as pavements, start making pavements the same colour as chewing gum, ban chewing gum, or stop the pavement-polka-dotting chewing-gummers polka-dotting pavements or make pavements polka-dotted to start with.
