SIR – Well, we’ve had the last budget from Alistair Darling, hopefully the last for a very long time!
The only new proposals, a stamp duty cut and new University places, were stolen from the Conservatives!
No credible plans to deal with the massive debt we find we are in and nothing to boost growth.
The stock exchange moved very swiftly and within minutes the pound had fallen and we learn that foreign investors have rushed to withdraw from British bonds.
Hopefully the people who count, ie the electorate, will see sense on May 6.
