SIR – I have been away and could not attend the meeting about Saltaire Roundabout, but I wrote to you a few years ago and suggested a trial period changing the zebra crossing to a pelican crossing at the top of Saltaire Road.
People crossing now stop all traffic and cause a bottleneck. The cost would be minimal. The new expensive layout with all the traffic lights would just slow things down.
The point of blocking off Albert and Hirst Wood Roads seems odd, as they don’t appear to cause problems.
