SIR – There is talk about ‘grassing-over’ part of the Westfield site, which I think is exactly what the developers want.
This would then enable Westfield to completely forget about Bradford for at least another ten years, after realising what a dreadful mistake they’d made a few years ago, when the largest retailers would only then take up to a small percentage of the overall capacity, and with no penalty clauses, stopped work.
With Westfield viewing the ‘antics’ of BCR, Yorkshire Forward and Bradford Council, there is no rush to come back, so an allotment seems a good idea.
