SIR – In one breath, Government quango Yorkshire Forward is supporting the Bradford City of Film designation (T&A, March 17) – with our money.
In the other, it is intent on destroying (against most people’s wishes) the Odeon building, the largest cinema of its type in the north of England, and one that could be put to good use supporting the City of Film. How does it have the nerve?
If that building was retained and refurbished in line with the suggestion already on the table by the Rescue Group, then what a splendid backdrop it would provide to the West End area, totally complementing the Alhambra Theatre, and what a superb addition it would be. Vastly superior to the very much unwanted New Victoria Place.
How about it, Yorkshire Forward? This would provide something that the people of Bradford want, rather than what you would impose upon us.
