SIR – Re the letter from Terry Tordoff (March 15). As one of the fools who “points a digital camera in a general direction to obtain a reasonable picture”, all I can say is, what’s wrong with that?
I think the use of these types of cameras have brought lots more pleasure to people than 35mm cameras have ever done.
My own mother-in-law, who has just gone 80, delights in taking photos with a digital camera and sending them off to relatives around the world via her computer.
I am sure 35mm photography has not gone “down the pan”, as you put it, and it never will.
As for your shop not developing films any more, the simple answer is: find one that will.
