SIR – I wonder if any other readers have noticed that there are certain politicians who in general are very, very rarely interviewed by Andrew Neil (Daily Politics) or Jon Sopel (The Politics Show)?

I can only assume that they may be worried that their edifice supporting their misguided policies would be torn to shreds.

These politicians are Harriet Harman, Jack Straw, Alan Johnson, Liam Byrne, Ed Balls, and their overlord, Gordon Brown, who don’t seem to like facing the music unless they can get away with answering the question asked with their own interpretation of the question – a semi-detached version of the truth!
