SIR – The pipe burst on Cemetery Road happened on December 19 and the road, it was said, would be reopened by Christmas Day. It wasn’t. Now we learn that it could be May before this busy road opens for traffic.
It is rumoured that among reasons for the delay is that the wrong-diameter replacement pipe was ordered and there is a delay in delivering the correct one.
But I wonder if there is a competition between them and Westfield and their Broadway hole as to who can cause the greatest disruption to traffic in the city?
I sympathise with the traders whose businesses are affected.
