SIR – During the life of the present parliament the Liberal Democrats have used four Leaders – Charles Kennedy, alcohol problems, Ming Campbell, victim of ageism, Vince Cable (acting) and Nick Clegg(pictured), more girlfriends than Tiger Woods. This makes it difficult to take them seriously – perhaps contributing to the Party’s wane in the polls?
Lib Dem Councillor Nader Fekri (T&A, February 22) tries to portray his latest boss as the “white knight” of the MPs’ expenses clean-up and advocates: “We Lib Dems remain committed to returning the highest standards of probity in public life”.
Does this include the full disclosure of Nick Clegg’s expenses claim when he was an MEP plying his trade in Brussels and Strasburg?
