SIR – The iconic film, The Railway Children, is being digitally-remastered and will be premiered at the Bradford International Film Festival to mark the 40th year since it was shot (T&A, February 10).
How sad that its director Lionel Jeffries has just passed away (T&A, February 13), but he will be affectionately remembered by Yorkshire folk as The Railway Children was filmed on the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway.
A familiar face in films and TV for decades, he will be greatly missed.
