SIR – In response to Councillor Hall’s letter (February 10), is he suggesting that I am illiterate and merely a puppet? I assure him that I am sufficiently educated and I am definitely no-one’s mouthpiece.
Is it his belief, as his letter suggests, that as a councillor it is his duty to help only those residents who are able to visit him at his surgery and not help those who try to contact him by other means? Where does that leave the elderly, the disabled or those residents that are simply too busy to attend the surgeries?
I note with interest that it is Councillor Hall and not my own local councillors that have responded to my letters. This does of course beg the question: who is it that really needs someone else to write letters on their behalf?
