SIR – In reply to Mr Holmans (Letters, February 1), the Human Rights Act 1998 is an Act of Parliament, ergo law. The ambiguity of the act (as with most) does indeed allow variety of interpretation by judiciaries, but this was a deliberate ploy by Labour.
On the one hand appeal to the political left and appear to become more liberal, yet on the other allow an industry to be created (and much wealth) for Mrs Blair et al! Hence I repeat my wish for this vehicle to be removed.
Ideally I would like the world to be a better place, but not at the cost of this country first!
