SIR – I notice that rail fares are soon to rise for the elderly (T&A, February 19). I think it is still a very big saving on normal fares, and don’t know why anybody should complain.
I will be joining the ranks of the elderly myself in a couple of weeks and I for one will be quite happy to pay 65p instead of the full fare of £2.50 that I pay now.
