SIR – For years Harriet Harman has been obsessed with all-women short lists for MPs.
Now, Ms Equality, from a privileged background (nothing wrong with that), is being accused of double standards.
Her husband, Jack Dromey, a trade union official, fancies becoming an MP for Birmingham, Erdington, but this time she has gone quiet on the matter.
Labour have decided against a women-only list. Does she object in this particular case?
Yet another U-turn she may not approve of is that this controlling Government has changed its mind about interfering in the Roman Catholic Church’s methods on ‘equality’, and I agree they should leave it to the church’s leaders to decide.
Just before an election, Labour have thought it unwise to ruffle the feathers of four million Catholic voters.
