SIR – It was a very gloomy, misty Saturday, the Bulls had lost the night before and City lost to Bury.
All in all there wasn’t much to be happy about, but then at 7pm, the sun came out for everybody who was lucky enough to be at St George’s Hall for the Bradford School Choirs finals with the London Community Choir.
Each of the six finalists had brought with them their own enthusiastic and vocal group of supporters. There was no doubt that each choir was a winner, and when the much anticipated results were announced Thackley were third, Clayton second and the worthy winners were Sandal Primary.
The London Community Choir gave us a memorable programme and one song that everyone joined in with was Happy Day. We do not hear much good news these days, but as I looked around at the happy smiling faces, I felt very assured.
Another offering was Abide With Me and I am sure I speak for everyone present when I say this delightful and memorable evening will abide with each one of us for a very long time.
