SIR – We are told that there are signs of an economic recovery and crime figures are down, but do we believe it? I think not.
We are still in for a very difficult year or two, and on top of this we have the Chilcot Inquiry, with each party condemning the other.
Then we have a weekly celebrity competition called Prime Minister’s Question Time, with each of the party leaders trying to win our votes. Sadly, prior to the fun and games, each party leader will rightly pay tribute to even more loss of life in the armed forces serving in Afghanistan.
David Cameron tries to score points against Gordon Brown, who gives an answer which is ignored, then Nick Clegg offers his contribution, which seeks to condemn everyone except the Lib-Debs.
We have the constant jeering and cheering, so no-one can hear a reply, then the speaker will shout ‘Order, order’, which has little or no effect. If this was a TV programme it would almost certainly be switched off.
So it is no surprise that people are becoming more and more disillusioned and, finally, who will remember the Chilcot Inquiry when it is published in 2011?
