SIR – D S Boyes (Letters, February 2) suggests time for a change. A change to what? Labour or Tory under the first-past-the-post structure?

The Lib-Dems have too long ago given up on proportional representation so it can either be Conservative or continuation with Labour, unless it does result in either a hung or very weak result at the next election.

What’s the good of that? The electorate will, as ever, only receive a Government that the country deserves, and heaven help us all.

A lot of hot air and precious little beneficial change, and referendums are not the answer.
