SIR – Despite the recession, donations to last year’s Poppy Appeal in Bradford were up 23 per cent from £130,00 to £160,000 (T&A, January 27), yet only two weeks earlier Investic Private Bank claimed that figures showed Yorkshire folk are the least generous in the UK when it comes to giving money to charity (T&A, January 14).
