SIR – After recently spending a great week in a holiday cottage in Haworth, I felt compelled to write about the condition of the pavements in and around the village with regard to dog poo.
I am quite amenable to our four-legged friends, in fact I was visiting with a dog myself, but I was appalled at the copious amounts that were lathered just about everywhere we went.
I cannot see what the problem is with disposing of the muck sensibly rather than others getting it on their shoes. Let’s be honest, how many of us would regard human faeces in the street acceptable, so why is there a difference?
I thought my home town of Cleethorpes held the crown of the most fouled place in the UK, but I have to say the title has certainly shifted in my eyes. Come on Haworth, get your act together and start providing poo bins at the very least in order for the pedestrian to walk around without any worries rather than have to make plans for a route through an assault course.
