SIR – As I have said before, it could only happen in Bradford.
We now find that the unique Shipley Glen Cable Tramway (pictured), one of the jewels in our list of tourist attractions, will again not be open this Christmas, as further funds are still needed to complete the engineering work (T&A, December 3).
While our Council is said to have provided £10,000, why has it not, long ago, given further moneys to enable the tramway to reopen quickly?
It is happy to squander over £24 million on a City Park that certainly does not have universal support, but cannot find funds for something which many of us would say is much more deserving.
It seems to me that this Council, under its current leadership, too often has priorities that do not match those of the people of Bradford.
I believe we are not being well served by Council leader Hopkins and this team, who appear to care not a jot what the ratepayers would really like to see.
