SIR – Reading your report (T&A, December 1) headlined “Post Office is wrecked by ram-raiders”, I immediately thought: “No, these individuals have possibly wrecked more than a building – they have possibly wrecked lives.”

What if the business had been struggling? Even with everything running smoothly, the lives of the workers will have been changed from the time of the attack.

These people have got away with money but they have stolen more than that – people’s quality of life.

When they are old, will they feel remorse? I doubt it. I’ve often thought that people who can commit despicable crimes are born without a conscience.
