SIR – Congratulations to the New Community Arts Academy on their excellent production of Cinderella at the Victoria Hall, Saltaire.
After having been formed little over a year, and having already staged other productions, it is a remarkable achievement to produce such a large undertaking.
With our younger generation constantly being criticised for their behaviour, it is refreshing to see so many youngsters doing something positive. It is good also to see so many adults involved in encouraging these young people.
The pantomime did not have the technological wizardry or the lavish sets and costumes of the Alhambra version but, nevertheless, was well presented. The show was well-scripted, and had all the ingredients needed for a pantomime.
There were songs, dances, humour, and plenty of audience participation. It was easy to tell that the audience all enjoyed themselves.
Thank you for an enjoyable and inspiring evening. My best wishes to everyone involved with the academy. Keep up the good work.
