SIR – Regarding the article on Broadway (T&A, December 15). Everyone knows that if a football manager is given a vote of confidence, it’s the kiss of death.
Councillor Adrian Naylor described as ‘nonsense’ an Australian article saying that Westfield would not begin further work on Broadway until late 2010, and he had assurances from them.
The last paragraph holds the truth, in saying that Westfield is stepping up its preparations for construction work by contacting retailers two or three times a week.
That tells me that retailers cannot see beyond the next few weeks. Let me predict that the London Olympics will have gone before anyone makes a purchase at Westfield roundabout.
Come on, Councillor Naylor, I know it’s the pantomime season, but you don’t have to be in it.
