SIR – Andrew Mawson smarts at loosing the Bingley by-election for Labour (Letters, December 10).
Yes it did snow, and yes it was a low turnout (25 per cent), but it must be made perfectly clear that the Conservatives comfortably held 60 per cent of the vote, only three percentage points down on the previous May election.
It seems that even locally the Labour Party are selective with the figures they choose to quote.
