SIR – While we have a lot to contend with in this violent and uncertain world, there is still a lot of goodness that nature can filter through to us.
On Sunday, I sat looking out of my kitchen window when I noticed a large skein of geese flying in a northerly direction.
Not long after this came another skein and then another and these were gradually decreasing in numbers. Between 3.30pm and 4pm, the geese passed overhead. You could hear them calling as though they were in the back garden. What a wonderful sight it was.
I must say, I haven’t experienced so many geese passing overhead at any other time, at least not for many years.
This was a real pleasure and for half an hour I was taken into this lovely and tranquil scene. I wonder if anyone else experienced this wonder of nature.
