SIR – The article about the dog hung in the bunker at Ginger Bread Wood, Spring Bank, Keighley (T&A, June 13) was very upsetting.
How could anyone take the dog, which no doubt thought it was going for a walk, and treat it in this horrific manner?
Animals do have feelings and the unfortunate dog must have wondered what it had done wrong to deserve this.
This person must be brought to court, fined a considerable sum, jailed and banned for life from keeping animals of any kind.
This has to be a person with knowledge of the area as the bunker is very difficult to find.
My sympathy goes to the young persons who found the dog hanging. It is a pity the birch has been banned as surely those responsible deserves this punishment.
M Booth, Hainworth Wood Road, Keighley
