SIR - I hope that the Council being responsible for stray dogs is not an April Fool's joke.
It's not so much the reporting and collection of strays but trying to get the dog wardens to answer the phone.
The time a friend and I had to contact them it took from 11am until 5:30pm before they returned our call. By this time we had already tried two police stations who wouldn't take them and finally contacted the RSPCA who reluctantly took the dog as it wasn't really their job to take in stray animals.
Council, please make sure the warden's office is manned with staff to actually take phone calls.
