l SIR - After reading A Shipman's letter (T&A, January 30), I must assume Mr Shipman is out of touch with policing.
May I point out the police do a very difficult and very dangerous job.
Everyday they face abuse in one form or another and continually put their lives on the line.
Maybe Mr Shipman should remember WPC Yvonne Fletcher and Bradford's own PC Sharon Beshenivsky to name but two officers murdered in the line of duty.
Don't knock the police, in my view they deserve every penny and more.
