SIR - In reply to your story regarding insurance, or lack of (T&A, January 28) would it not be of more interest to the honest motorist if PC Plod spent more time engaged in random checks on all vehicles for the purpose of identifying these miscreants and not just quoting figures of how many.
I am sure the honest motorist would not mind being stopped to ensure that, if you are bumped, you have a claim against the other party.
After all, they can find time to sit in vehicles doing nothing that takes these uninsured drivers off the road.
