SIR - Recently I and another councillor had a guided tour of Caleb, a drugs and alcohol rehabilitation organisation on Bolling Road.
We were very impressed by the work being done to assist "users" to kick the habit and get their lives back.
A remarkable aspect of the work is the complete self-honesty which is expected of those in recovery and which forms the bedrock of the treatment.
The clients we spoke to were surprisingly frank about their condition and I found this openness both refreshing and disarming.
I wish Caleb and its clients every success. I wish also that certain politicians, both at national and local level, could exhibit the same degree of self-honesty as I witnessed at Caleb.
And I should probably include myself in that!
Councillor John Cole (Lib-Dem, Baildon) Oakroyd Terrace, Baildon
