SIR - I would like to thank Councillor Robinson (T&A, January 22) for beautifully reinforcing my explanation to Mr Sladdin of why exactly he has heard nothing from local politicians regarding the Westfield development: "... and the Conservatives will only be accused of sour grapes if they bring this point up" (T&A, January 7).
I also believe my colleagues have been remarkably restrained in their comments on the issue, considering they have had both hands tied behind their backs due to Labour incompetence in the first place.
I cannot understand, however, why we should apologise for having plans for Bradford.
Perhaps if better plans had been made in the late 1990s we would now have the Broadway Shopping Centre.
