SIR - Your article regarding Richard McCann addressing a meeting of young people of his experience of life (T&A, January 16) was inspiring.
One hundred young people at a meeting of this kind was small enough. Let us hope the message spreads and that a smoother passage is available to the majority of young people.
The "Ripper" Peter Sutcliffe hasn't done bad. He has been awarded £193,000 of public funds as a result of been injured by a fellow inmate. The offer of £40,000 to an ambulance driver badly injured by yobs doesn't compare.
