SIR - We're joining forces to get our collective voice heard in aid of Beating Bowel Cancer's BE LOUD Campaign (January 28 to February 3).

Bowel cancer is the UK's second biggest cancer killer. This year over 35,000 people will be diagnosed with the disease and half of these will die.

Yet the sad truth is that 90 per cent of these deaths could be prevented if people were aware of the symptoms and were not afraid to speak out about them.

We're asking you to wear something loud or do something loud, and get sponsored for doing so, or to make a donation to the campaign.

Log on to www.beatingbowelcancer.org to find out more and you can download posters, flyers and sponsor forms and order balloons, stickers and other materials, to help make any BE LOUD! activity a great success.

We hope as many people as possible will get involved in the campaign .
