SIR - Would-be Lewis Hamiltons are behind the introduction of more speed bumps and everyday motorists are to blame for the increase in speed traps.

Now we have Terry Tordoff erroneously claiming that using a mobile phone while driving is not a crime (T&A, January 11).

He would think differently if he lost a close relative to one of these thoughtless' drivers.

Even Asda has had to resort to fining customers for parking in it's disabled or parent and child spaces when they should not.

If motorists stopped being a law unto themselves and played the game, they would benefit financially and we would all be safer going about our daily lives.
