SIR - I am at a loss as to why ITV is scrapping its episodes of Coronation Street on a Sunday night (T&A, January 3).
The soap may have only come eighth in the Christmas TV ratings but it still pulled in nearly ten million viewers. As to why the channel wants to make weekends a soap-free zone is anyone's guess.
However, planners would do well to remember what happened to Channel 4's Brookside when they started cutting episodes to accommodate other programmes.
If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
